Overview
The Toubkal Circuit is a popular Trek that offers a wonderful introduction to the stunning landscapes and traditional villages of the Atlas Mountains in Morocco. The Trek takes you through high Mountain passes, where you can witness the remnants of the traditional nomadic way of life. You will also have the opportunity to explore charming Berber villages and the breathtaking beauty of the Ifni Lake.
The trek culminates in a challenging ascent to the Summit of Mount Toubkal, the highest peak in North Africa, where you will be rewarded with panoramic views of the surrounding peaks and valleys.
ITINERARY OF PROGRAM
After a 64 km transport, we arrive in Imlil where we will meet our local team consisting of a guide, cook, and mule men. Following a warm welcome and traditional mint tea, we will load our belongings onto the mules and set off, following our guide up to Tamatert Pass (2260m).
The trail offers stunning views of the surrounding peaks, including Oukaimeden (3200m), Angour (3650m), and Bouyguenoune (3700m). We will camp for the night in front of the old Tachdirt village (2300m).

After an early breakfast, we will embark on a three-hour hike up to Tizi Likemt (3550m).
The ascent is relatively gradual, making it easier to tackle in the cooler morning temperatures. We will spend the night at Azib Likemt, a summer settlement favored by herders and their goats.

Today, we will embark on a walk through the Tinzar Valley and up to Tizi N’Ourai (3200m), offering breathtaking views of the expansive Tifnout Valley. We will then make our way down to Amsouzarte, via a zigzagging descent.
We will spend the night at a guest house and have the opportunity to explore the surrounding villages in the afternoon.

Today’s hike will be the shortest of the trek, with just a morning walk before we arrive at the stunning Ifni Lake. We will spend the afternoon relaxing near the lake and set up camp in the area.

- Negative Elevation: 950m
Today is a day of challenge as we hike up to the summit of Toubkal Peak (4167m). This ascent requires physical and mental preparation and will be a steep, zigzagging climb to the top.
Upon reaching the summit, we will continue down to Toubkal Base Camp, where hot showers may be available in the refuge.

Today we will begin our descent down the Imlil Valley, passing by the shrine of Sidi Chamharouch, a sacred site where the tomb of a revered figure is located.
After a few kilometers, we will reach Imlil, where we will take a lunch break before being transported back to Marrakech.

About Toubkal Circuit Trek
The Toubkal Circuit Trek is a beautiful introduction to the Atlas Mountains and its villages, allowing you to traverse high passes where traditional nomadic life still exists.
